Author
August 31, 2024
Whirring Wings: Songs from the Locust Years is a semi-autobiographical rendering of the universal experiences of grief and loss, primarily in relation to illness, abuse, divorce, and death. Throughout the collection run imagery and language that reflect the two constants in the author's life: nature and faith.

This was a memorable article for a couple reasons. First of all, the Whaler's team was so creative and entrepreneurial. Then, it was the first article I remotely "co-wrote" with someone. In one of those comical journalistic snafus, Emily and I both conducted interviews and wrote articles on Whaler's Brewing. Our editor, a SUPER-kind woman, decided to combine the articles and throw us both some money. She was definitely not obligated to do that. Thanks again, Joan!
